1. What is PreSense eMagazine?
PreSense is India's first and longest-running digital-only eMagazine for positive journalism, published on the 1st of every month since March 2006. It is run by Prime Point Foundation, Chennai, entirely by volunteers without any commercial advertisements.
2. Who founded PreSense and why?
PreSense was founded by K. Srinivasan (Prime Point Srinivasan) of Prime Point Foundation on the suggestion of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India. Dr Kalam believed that positive journalism promoting the good work being done across the country deserved a dedicated platform.
3. Is PreSense free to read?
Yes. PreSense has always been completely free to read, download, and share. There are no subscription fees, no paywalls, and no advertisements of any kind. All past editions are freely accessible on this website.
4. How many editions of PreSense have been published?
PreSense has published 230+ editions continuously since March 2006 — over two decades of uninterrupted positive journalism. A new edition is released on the 1st of every month without fail. Browse all editions in our Archive.
5. What topics does PreSense cover?
The first 60 editions focused on communication, journalism, and public relations. From the 61st edition onwards, PreSense broadened its coverage to include current affairs, politics, governance, Indian heritage, history, science and technology, health, education, and culture — catering to readers of all age groups.
6. Who are the people behind PreSense?
PreSense is run entirely by volunteers. The Publisher and Managing Editor is Prime Point Srinivasan. The Editor in Chief is Advocate Priyadharshni Rahul, Supreme Court of India. The Joint Managing Editors are Ramesh Sundaram (Senior Journalist, formerly The Hindu) and C. Badri (Former General Manager, Canara Bank). The Cartoon Editor is Triambak Sharma (Editor, CartoonWatch, Raipur).
7. What is the Prince cartoon character in PreSense?
Prince is a cartoon character created by noted cartoonist Triambak Sharma and introduced in the July 2008 edition on the suggestion of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Prince was launched by Dr Kalam himself at Raj Bhavan, Chennai. Inspired by R K Laxman's Common Man, Prince represents the aspirations of Indian youth. Dr Kalam himself cited Prince in a public address at the Cartoon Festival, New Delhi in April 2011.
8. Does PreSense publish books and eBooks?
Yes. Under the PreSense Speaks series, 35+ free eBooks have been published as compilations of select articles from past editions. These form part of the 61+ digital books published by Prime Point Foundation covering a wide range of subjects. All publications are free to download from our Publications page.
9. What is the PreSense Digital Library?
The PreSense Digital Library is an AI-powered assistant launched at the 20th Anniversary celebrations in December 2025. Powered by Google Gemini, it enables readers to query content from all past editions of PreSense from the very beginning. It is available free for public use.
