Dec 2010 - Post 1990: whether youth have gained or lost?

After 1990 liberalisation, India has shown enormous growth in the economic front.  Many youngsters earn lot of money, compared to the youth of earlier generation.   At the same time, discussions are going on every where that youth have lost more than what they have gained.  Since this involves the future of our country, we conducted an online snap survey in the first week of December 2010 to get the views of our readers.
According to the survey, more than 70 percent of the respondents feel that Indian youth have gained more in economic front, educational opportunities and technology.  At the same time, more than 70 percent of the respondents feel that they have also lost heavily in health, family relationship, maintenance of culture.   They also feel that human values are not given importance.
With this background, we formed a panel with 8 members representing various states and  age group to debate on this important issue.  They conducted an e-debate  among themselves and discussed various dimensions of this issue through email.
In this edition of ezine, we have dealt with this theme comprehensively and also explored some solutions to reduce the negative impact of post 1990 scenario.
